Japan LNG Price Rises for First Time in 2016

Japan's imported price for liquefied natural gas rose for the first time in 2016 in June, reaching $4.50 per million British thermal units, according to data published by Japan's ministry of economy. The rise is a nearly 5% increase month-on-month. Crude prices were also beginning to recover in June, which normally impacts on gas since many long-term LNG contracts are linked to oil.
