Summer Heat Slows Falls in Japan's Oil Demand
[Dow Jones] Japan's oil demand fell at the slowest pace in 10 months in July, falling by 82,000 barrels a day to 3.3 million barrels a day, says Energy Aspects, noting the summer heat wave and a recent glitch at a coal plant that contributed to the first on-year growth in fuel oil demand in over three years. "Temperatures in August were mostly higher than normal, which will likely keep fuel oil demand elevated," the firm projects. In July, Japan's diesel demand rose slightly while gasoline demand fell.
